Many people who have seen hypnosis stage shows believe that the hypnotist is controlling the participants minds. In reality, they’re going along with things because it’s fun. And, they are perfectly capable of responding in creative and delightfully unpredictable ways.
In this video Atlanta hypnotherapist Wesley Anderson describes his experiences of being in a hypnosis stage show. His creative response to one of the suggestions surprised both him and the hypnotist.
Hypnosis is a state in which the normal conscious thinking mind is bypassed temporarily. That way the unconscious mind can create the changes that I hypnotherapy client desires in ways that can be creative and surprising both. It is the job of the hypnotherapist to guide his clients into hypnosis in ways that can engage the unconscious minds abilities to create new choices, habits, and behaviors in easy and comfortable ways.
